The leaves are starting to come out and we’re in talks with galleries around the country to get Project Tandem shown. Who could ask for anything more?

Podcast on Project Tandem!

Back in October we were interviewed by James of the Joy Trip Project and the resulting Podcast was released today! Check it out at: The Joy Trip Project.

Weird to hear ourselves on the radio… we usually record other people!

In other news, we’re getting ready to send out some more gallery pitches. The end is in sight!! That means we’re beginning to plot our next project…

What do you DO all day?

A couple weeks ago we were chatting with some friends and the subject of work came up. “We’re swamped,” Alan and I complained. “We just can’t seem to keep up with all the work!” It was quiet for a second before one friend finally asked, “I’m sorry to be so confused, but I thought the bike trip was over,  what exactly do you DO all day?”

Totally fair question. I figure the best way to answer this is by giving a rundown of what we have to do today. It’s a pretty typical work day so we started at 9AM.

-Coffee

-Blog

-Finish cutting the audio for our “Weather” slideshow for our website

-Put the photographs with the “Weather” audio and sync them

-E-mail Joy Trip project with details requested about Project Tandem

-E-mail Adventure Cycling with details requested abut Project Tandem Print Sale

-Do some research for book to be sold at gallery show

-Discuss and plan out approach for more galleries/public spaces

This will likely take us the full work-day and chances are, at some point today we’ll get an e-mail or phone call from someone wanting more information about Project Tandem. We’ll add them to tomorrow’s list and keep truckin’. The rub, at this point in the game, is that we’re seeking as much publicity as possible, but also working to get the show in galleries and public spaces, keep up the connections we already have and cultivate new ideas and projects at the same time. Unfortunately, none of this stuff pays. We both do odd jobs in our “free time” to keep ourselves fed, but working on Project Tandem is really our full-time job. It’s not glamorous or cool, but we biked around 11,000 miles and we’ll be darned if we don’t get the work we did on that ride seen through-out the country.

As we’ve been working to bring Project Tandem to life, we’ve taken a step back to go over all the work we had made on the road. Each of us has gone through the archive and chosen a number of images that really stand out to us from around the country. Some are beautiful landscapes and some are quirky scenes. The prints start at a very affordable $30USD and all the proceeds go directly towards making Project Tandem’s touring show a reality! desert-sunsettx

So please take a look, and enjoy. All the images are archival pigment prints on Moab fine art paper, and come in four different sizes.

Coming super soon, promise.

Boom! We’re kicking our new website into high-gear just like we kicked the Rockies’ butt.  blogActually, we climbed the continental divide much faster than we’re getting this website up and running. Who knew biking 11,000 miles around the country would be the easy part?

Pecan Coffee

Announcing the return of Dee’s Pecan Coffee! For those of you who follow the blog loyally, we tried Dee’s Pecan Coffee for the first time in Grand Bay, Alabama as we cycled through. For months now we have been telling our friends and family how amazing Dees coffee was, but were unable to get ahold of them to order more. We were worried that they had gone out of business, but we tried one more time and got through! In two days we had 2lbs of fresh butter-pecan coffee at our door and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

The coffee was just as good as we remembered. Now every morning we enjoy a fresh cup as we dive into work.

Merrily we print along

A brief update: As you know, we’ve been in mid-coast Maine for a little while now and we just received a big shipment of beautiful Moab Entrada Rag paper! The Maine Media Workshops has graciously allowed us to use their printers to print the show and so here we are! Back at our old stomping-grounds (Alan and I met while both working here in 2007). It’s good to be back.
