Announcing the return of Dee’s Pecan Coffee! For those of you who follow the blog loyally, we tried Dee’s Pecan Coffee for the first time in Grand Bay, Alabama as we cycled through. For months now we have been telling our friends and family how amazing Dees coffee was, but were unable to get ahold of them to order more. We were worried that they had gone out of business, but we tried one more time and got through! In two days we had 2lbs of fresh butter-pecan coffee at our door and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

The coffee was just as good as we remembered. Now every morning we enjoy a fresh cup as we dive into work.

A brief update: As you know, we’ve been in mid-coast Maine for a little while now and we just received a big shipment of beautiful Moab Entrada Rag paper! The Maine Media Workshops has graciously allowed us to use their printers to print the show and so here we are! Back at our old stomping-grounds (Alan and I met while both working here in 2007). It’s good to be back.

As we mentioned in a blog post last week, we’ve gotten a ton of feedback from folks about our new site. Well, now we’ve made some changes! Check out our new slideshow, 20 Questions- the first of many to come in our “Life on the Road” section! Here’s the link: http://www.projecttandem.org/20questions.html
We’re also having some technical difficulties with the audio in our “Portraits of American Environmental Perceptions” section. We should have them up and running again on Monday. Sorry about that.

After much consideration we have decided to print the final show on Moab Entrada Rag Natural 300 paper. This is one of the many types of paper we sampled from our newest sponsor Moab. We took our time printing test images on every style until we found the right fit. It was exciting to see the images finally come alive in print form.
We also want to congratulate two of our friends Dave Wright and Sally Dennison for their solo show openings. If you are in New York Feb. 5- Mar. 31 check out Dave’s Uganda: A River Blue at Anastasia Photo in Manhattan. And if you’re in Los Angeles Feb. 11- Mar. 6th check out Sally’s One and the Same at Los Angeles Center for Digital Art. A big congrats to both of them!

So here we are in Rockland, Maine, making our website and going about our business of starting to book galleries and public spaces for the show to tour. We put up our new website and received lots of positive feedback (thanks!) but everyone wants the same thing: more stories and more about the trip itself! So we’re taking this week and preparing some more fun stuff for the website that’ll make it even better. Just for you guys. Thanks so being so supportive- we can’t wait to share some stories from the road!

The NEW Project Tandem website can now be viewed at our old URL: http://www.projecttandem.org. On the new site you can view some of the portraits that will be in the traveling show and listen to some of the audio clips we recorded on the road! Other features include a new map highlighting our route with travel images and daily stopping points, a twitter feed where you can voice your opinion about the environment, and an updated sponsor list.
We are excited to hear what you think- thanks so much to our fans for your support!

Just a quick update: we had our lecture at B&H in NYC on Sunday afternoon and it was great! Here’s a shot of us up there speaking…
We had a great time- huge thanks to Moab for sponsoring our talk. We brought a couple of sample prints in their Chinle Ice Nine Portfolios so the audience could see some prints on different types of paper. Anyway, we’re working on getting the new website up and running and we promised the folks at our lecture that we’d have it up by the end of the week… we’re also in the middle of moving, so we’ll have updates on that as soon as we get settled a bit.

With our lecture quickly approaching this Sunday we are working diligently on finishing our new website, finalizing our lecture material, and printing sample images. Luckily it has been extremely cold outside, motivating us to stay in the studio and work.

Sometimes we still have to get out and enjoy winter.

Over the holidays it was beautiful in the Adirondacks and we did a little hiking and shooting.
Of course, there were other distractions like friends and family and food…

…and a Wii Fit. We played the bicycling game and did pretty well- much to the amusement of several of my cousins.
